Reasoning is one of the next frontiers for LLMs. Despite the incredible progress of the last few years, the largest language models still face challenges in multi-step reasoning tasks like math word problems and commonsense reasoning. Chain of thought prompting is a technique proposed by Google Research that attempts to address precisely this challenge.
