💥 What’s New in AI: Feast is an Open Source, Lightweight Feature Store You Should Know About
A feature store is a pattern that is becoming prevalent in modern machine learning solutions. Conceptually, a feature store serves as a repository of features that can be used to train and evaluate machine learning models. (We just did a thorough overview of how feature stores were started.) Despite the obvious value proposition, feature stores are notably missing from most machine learning platforms. Last year, Google joined efforts with Asia’s ride-hailing startup Gojek to open source Feast (Feature Store), a feature store for machine learning models. Since then, the project was fully open-sourced and has attracted other contributors such as Agoda, Zulily, and even feature store platform Tecton. Â
